PROJECT STATUS

The project is on hold pending the outcome of court proceedings.

The Developer went through the City of Galena zoning process, annexed the property, obtained Preliminary Approval for the overall design, and obtained final approval for the planting of part of the vineyard.

An adjacent property owner filed a lawsuit in opposition to the project. With the exception of the annexation, the approvals were revoked by the court on the basis of procedural questions about the zoning hearings.

The City and the Developer have been defending their interests in court. The case now resides in the Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court.
